History

Bexley SNAP was formed in 1994 by a small group of parents committed to ensuring the needs of their disabled child in Bexley were considered in planning leisure and support services around the borough. Over the last 22 years, SNAP has grown every year, recruiting more staff, volunteers and trustees to manage the steady increase of services we offer to children and families.

The number of families we support has risen steadily from 60 or so to just over 1,200.

SNAP have campaigned on behalf of parents and disabled children for improved services, more awareness of disability and for our young disabled people to be welcomed into community services.

What really helped me was to discover that I was not alone and that there were many other parents/carers just like me, with one or more disabled children to care for.
